BLOOM at Memphis Botanic Garden Is Bringing a Million Reasons to Love Spring

Nearly one million blooms are about to pop across Memphis and you’re going to want to make a day (or three) of it.

Spring in Memphis just hits different. And this year, Memphis Botanic Garden is going all out with BLOOM: A Million Shades of Spring, a season-long celebration running March through May 2026.

Across the Garden’s 96 acres, more than one million blooms will unfold in waves of color: cherry blossoms, sweeping tulip displays, and the iconic flowers of Southern spring like azaleas, hydrangeas, magnolias, irises, and roses. Whether you’re strolling beneath soft pink cherry blossoms or wandering through fields of tulips, no two visits will ever look the same.

And here’s your pro tip: make a whole East Memphis day of it. The Garden is right by Dixon Gallery & Gardens, famous for its annual tulips and currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. Between the two, this corner of the city becomes one of the largest spring floral destinations in the country

BLOOM Saturdays = Your New Spring Tradition

Every Saturday from March through May (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.), the Garden transforms into an all-ages, make-a-day-of-it experience.

Expect:

  • Kids’ activities
  • Food trucks + full bar
  • Live performances (usually at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.)
  • Cultural celebrations
  • Storytelling, dance, special guests
  • Peak seasonal blooms as your backdrop

March leans into Japanese-inspired programming, tea traditions, cherry blossom vibes, and guided Japanese Garden tours. April and May bring symphony performances, ballet and dance, storybook characters, pet-friendly days, and outdoor games.

Each Saturday is different, which means you absolutely have permission to go more than once.
