Memphis 901 FC is back for its 5th season

Our beloved 901 FC team is a whole hand-years-old now (that’s 5-years-old in case my joke failed) and long overdue for a blog of their own.

KINGS OF NEON

901 FC returns for the 2023 season with a home opener on Saturday, March 11, at AutoZone Park, where they look to build on the success of their 2022 season. Now is as good of a time as any to get your tickets. Click here to get yours now.

This year’s squad is led by first-year head coach Stephen Glass and the assistant coach Mark Spalding. If you haven’t gone yet – do it. You have at least 17 home regular matches to catch them in action.

COME ON, YOU 901!

To make the most out of your game-day experience. Join the Bluff City Mafia, a crew of independent supporters, at The Brass Door around the corner from AutoZone Park. After enjoying a few pints of Guinness, it’s time for the march to the match.

Led with chants and bagpipers, a crowd assembles to walk from the bar through the alleyways to the stadium. Get a ticket in the supporters section at any match if you’re wanting a rowdy, good time.

The supporters section fills up with Bluff City Mafia members and more where they keep the chants going all game long. Worried about not knowing the words? Bluff City Mafia almost always has the chants printed out for newcomers to join along. Or click here to practice in advance.

Hopefully you’ll catch a pretty epic guitar smash in the process to kick off the match. Ja Morant, Tim Howard, Taylor Jenkins, Penny Hardaway, and more have all had some pretty great smashes.

“Bluff City Mafia is going to be one of the loudest and most boisterous supporters' groups in American soccer. We plan to sing, drink, and raise all sorts of hell in support of Memphis 901 FC. As the first officially sanctioned supporters club, being a part of Bluff City Mafia means you are one of the most passionate fans of this club. It also means you are the face of soccer fandom in Memphis and around the country.” - Bluff City Mafia

You’ll be hooked once that first goal is scored and the mafia release their colored smoke bombs into their air. You can also join the mafia for some cool swag, access, and most importantly – community.

Hello! I'm Jalyn Souchek, the Director of Content for I Love Memphis Blog! I love calling the 901 home. When I'm not running the blog you can find me cheering on the Grizzlies, at a concert, exploring a new restaurant or kicking back at one of our breweries. I hope you'll love experiencing Memphis with me.

Build your perfect Memphis meal:

I love to eat so if I were to have only one meal left.. I’m going all out. I’d start with an app of Gumbo Fries from Blue City Cafe or Bayou Fries from Chef Tam, wings from Good Fortune or Central’s (honey gold and Jamaican Jerk), potato salad from Fat Larry’s, side of bbq spaghetti from Bar-B-Q Shop, and fried okra from Soul Fish. All paired with a Beale Street Brewing Space Age Sippin’.

Your most memorable Memphis moment:

College GameDay on Beale Street. That was an electric and perfect morning. I was still working in news then and was able to take it in up close and on the stage at some points. The fun and joy of everyone down there that morning is unbeatable.
