A Memphis Must: Fantastic Brunch Feast At The Peabody Hotel

Posted by Holly Whitfield | March 26th 2018 23069 0

“I thought I knew about brunch…until I did the Peabody brunch.”

This is a quote from a friend after she and I experienced the absolutely ridiculous brunch buffet at The Peabody Hotel.

Imagine every kind of breakfast, brunch, and lunch food ever – meats, cheese, waffles, seafood, fresh-baked breads, pasta, carving station, salads – all spread out on multiple buffets. And don’t get me started on the desserts. They’re as delicious as they are beautiful. And there’s a whole section for them.

Brunch at The Peabody is everything you’ve ever thought about brunch, taken to the next level. They use the word “lavish” and I really can’t argue.

Usually, the brunch is set up in Capriccio Grill. You’ll be seated, order your beverages (unlimited French Press coffee and mimosas are included in the price), and then make your way to the breakfast section within the restaurant, and then the humongous table set up in the hallway outside to all the other, salads, pastas, seafood, meats, vegetables. The desserts (you must save room!) are a menagerie of delicious, delicate pastries. It’s like the Nutcracker’s land of sweets come to life.

For Easter and other holidays, the Peabody sets up the brunch on Mezzanine overlooking the Lobby. They also add holiday favorites and extra desserts and pastries in addition to the usual smorgasbord.

The Peabody Hotel

This Memphis bucket list brunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is $46.96 for adults, $14 for children ages 5-12 and free for kids 4 and under. Reservations are highly recommended.

For special holidays, such as Thanksgiving or Easter, the Peabody’s holiday brunches are about $76 for adults and $28 for kids. Reservations are absolutely required.

I’d love to win the brunch because my husband and I just celebrated our 20 year wedding anniversary, and instead of doing something special on that date, we were traveling to visit with family, leaving on the actual anniversary date and then coming back a few days later just to head back to work. In fact, that weekend while we were out of town, we were so committed to family obligations that we were unable to experience a brunch on that last day (Sunday) like I had wanted to. It would be so awesome to experience the best brunch in the city with the love of my life of 20 years – I’ve never been before and it would be just perfect. Thank you!

  31. Sherry Greene says:

I enjoyed the Peabody Brunch once in 1986 when it was in the Skyway. It was one of the most memorable meals of my life but I was forced to leave the table long before I wanted, to send off my mother and some friends who had chartered a bus to come up from Huntsville Ala. for the weekend. While they were dragging me out of the Skyway told myself I would do brunch there again soon. But alas, I have yet to make it back for this fabulous brunch.
This year on my birthday in February my husband offered to take me but I was born on Valentine Day and of course we couldn’t get reservations.
The Peabody Brunch is now on my bucket list and I swear if I ever make it back it won’t be the last time. I don’t have kids and we have no other plans for Easter Sunday so we are certainly available. Thank you.

My future husband and I have lived in the Memphis area since October 2016. His job is very strenuous (as an inland commercial diver) and is 100% on call 24/7 for any emergency response jobs on the Mississippi River. We have not spent the past 2 Christmas’s together, missed anniversaries and countless holidays since we moved. It would be an absolute treat to spend Easter at the Peabody (as he has never seen in inside of the hotel). I have taken family members to see the ducks and he has always been envious! Thank you for your consideration!

  43. Abby Starr says:

My parents! They never do anything for themselves and I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for them this year as me and my sister will be out of town with our families for the first time ever. 53. Kim says:

    Pick me, pick me 🙂

  54. Christina Naguiat says:

This weekend is my one year anniversary with my boyfriend – we have been a long distance relationship since I moved to Memphis 3 months after we started dating. Luckily, with great planning (both with schedules and finances) I have been able to visit him in Wisconsin one weekend per month, and he has been able to come to Memphis once per month. He is here in Memphis for this weekend for our anniversary. I have been eyeing this brunch but with our travel costs it is expensive, and it would be a wonderful gift if we would win this brunch! As well, as a wonderful way to celebrate Easter!

  55. Michelle R says:

Just moved here and we don’t have plans 🙂

Oh and I need a reason to wear this dress that would be a nice fancy brunch at the Peabody type dress.

  74. Michelle D. says:

I’m unable to go home to Cincinnati for the holiday so this would be a lovely treat.

  75. Tayler says:

Well I have never been to The Peabody Hotel before so it would be a splendid experience if I were granted the opportunity of going. I’m a big foodie, that came along way from Southern California to Memphis TN and I feel as if you can’t claim to be a foodie if you have never eaten at The Peabody Hotel. I would love to surprise my hubby by taking him with me. He’s a hard city employee and I would love to show him how much I love him as well as the city of Memphis. However, he’s never been to actually EAT at the Peabody! Not even a pastry! I’ve offered to treat him several times; however he never accepts. This week has been especially rough for him, since his grandmother passed away on our anniversary, and his team had immediate away games he’s just been running around nonstop and we haven’t had any time to celebrate. I would love to be able to surprise him after a week of traveling to such a nice treat!

Although I would love to dine at the Peabody for brunch on Easter, I am entering this contest in hopes of winning tickets for my parents. Dining at various locally owned eateries is actually one of my favorite things to do; parents, not so much! I am always getting them to try new things, this including food. Not to mention, my mother cooks like a mad woman on holidays- it’s okay not to be a crazy cook and let others cater to you ( unfortunately, I am not the best cook so if I tell her not to worry, I order dinner). I think this would be a great time for them to take a load off and enjoy each other’s company!

I have raised awareness for the homeless epidemic here in the city and I have most recently helped survey the homeless population with Community Alliance for the Homeless, Inc a few months back. I also partner with Hope House Daycare for children affected by HIV/AIDS. I love Memphis and I want to see our city grow economically and productively. We have what it takes to lead the way in our region and eventually throughout the country! #IBelieve! If I wear to win this opportunity I would take someone who is less fortunate and someone who haven’t experienced fine-dining before.
