Behold, I found a BBQ rib taco! Yes, you heard that right. A BBQ rib taco…and I got it from the most unlikely place.

See, I told you it was real. And mane, was it good. Located at the corner of Ross Road and Winchester sits Memphis’ hidden taco gem. I’m not 100% sure of the name, but it’s a small red building. Or maybe it’s a truck? I’m not sure.

(Ed. Note: The Health Dept. sheet says “El Gallo” but the signs say “Mexican BBQ” and “Asador Mexicano”, so decide for yourself what we should call this place of wonder…)

Do I really need to go I to detail about how awesome a BBQ pork rib taco is? Trust me go and get a few. They are only $2.50 or 4 for $10, which is a great deal. I also picked up two chicken and two steak tacos.

To top it all off, I got what the owner called “pineapple juice”. I thought it would be regular juice but nope: he cut up a whole pineapple, blended it twice, and added fermented pineapple pulp to it with water and it was the most refreshing drink I’ve had in a while. Just, wow.

See the bits of pineapple in there?
If you’re in the area, you have to go by and try this out. If you’re not in the area, you have to make the trip over to try this place out.

If I can find out the exact hours, I will update this post for sure.

Any updates on the hours?
Hi Brooke! Unfortunately, we were able to get a clear answer or time nailed down for this taco stand/truck. These kinds of pop-ups usually have pretty varying hours anyways. Good luck and I’ll be sure to update this if anything changes.
