The Memphis College of Art’s graduate school will relocate next year: they’re moving from downtown at 477 S. Main Street to be closer to their main campus at Overton Park.

This means that 477 South Main is up for grabs in terms of what comes next. Have ideas for how this remodeled, modern space should be used to aid the arts community in Memphis? Attend one of three public meetings this week and share your thoughts.

The meetings will all be at 477 S. Main Street. Here’s the schedule:

Tuesday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 16 at 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday, September 16 at 12:30 p.m.

If you want to attend, try to RSVP by filling out this form.

RSVPs are encouraged but not required.

The meetings will be organized by Artspace Consulting Services, which is an arts-related property development organization that plans to open a live/work space for artists at 138 St. Paul Ave. in South Main.

What do you think should take the place of MCA’s grad school space?

I write about what’s going on with Memphis music, food, arts, events, sports, people, and culture. Memphians love Elvis and barbeque with a passion that must be seen to be believed, but there is so much more to this place.
