If you like beer, science, or beer science, you'll probably love the Science of Beer event at the Pink Palace next Friday night, January 16. 

The Science of Beer is an event where local and regional breweries, Memphis home brewers, and beer lovers get together at the PInk Palace to taste beer, learn about the science behind it, and get an up-close look at barley, malt, and yeast. 

If you go, you can interact with the pros from local breweries and home brew organizations, get mini-lectures on aromatics and how to cook with beer, and enjoy activities like koozie-decorating and pretzel-necklace-making. Tamp & Tap is sponsoring a chili bar, plus there will be other food.

If you don't want to risk it, buy tickets online now. They're $37.22 for participants, which includes all food, beer, and a tasting glass. If you're a Pink Palace member, you get a $5 discount at online checkout. There are designated driver tickets for $16.52 as well. This event is 21 and up only.

Big important note: you will not be able to buy tickets at the event. If you don't buy tickets online ahead of time, and you go, there will be no tickets for you. Also, last year the event sold out, so keep that in mind.
