You know what tastes better covered in chocolate? Just about everything, including pineapples. The evil candy geniuses at Dinstuhl's sell chocolate covered pineapple chunks by the box, year round. It's a less traditional choice than a chocolate covered cherry or strawberry, but I think it's better. They're more unexpected, and they taste like milk chocolate coated summertime. For traditionalists, Dinstuhl's does have chocolate covered strawberries in stock in the spring and summer. They get a fresh supply every Thursday, but if you don't mind them a little mushy, you can get them on sale on Tuesday and Wednesday. (While I was there this morning, the woman working the counter told me that the overripe strawberries are best smashed up and served over ice cream.) They've also got chocolate covered red seedless grapes, if that's your thing.
