Eat This: Chang Mai Noodles from Bhan Thai
Eat This: Chang Mai Noodles from Bhan Thai
It's been so cold this week, which means that all I've wanted to do is eat a ton of soup. But delicious though it is, soup isn't always substantial.
That's the best thing about Chang Mai noodles from Bhan Thai - they walk a nice, curry-flavored line between soup and a meal. It's a giant bowl full of thin, flat noodles, the protein of your choice (I went with chicken), scallions, crispy wonton noodles and sweet pickled cucumbers with a mild curry broth poured over the top. The broth is a coconut milk and curry broth, and it's got a ton of flavor without being at all hot and spicy.
Since the bowl is about 80 percent substance and 20 percent soup, and it's plenty big enough for leftovers, the Chang Mai noodles are pretty much the perfect winter food.
