Monday News Update: Manliest Men in Manlyville Edition
Today in Memphis, let everyone know that Memphis is your favorite, watch the new Mid-South earthquake documentary, donate to the Food Bank via your receipts and find out exactly how manly we are. Here's your Monday news update:
- You know all of those city rankings that we get all bent out of shape about? Take some action: it's time to vote in Travel + Leisure's annual America's Favorite Cities poll. Remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain.
- Speaking of those lists, Memphis is super manly. The third manliest city in the country, even. Chest bump!
- This is awesome: South of Beale has added a place on their receipts where you can donate a few bucks to the Memphis Food Bank in June.
- What did we learn at last week's airport panel? Sadly, that there's not much we can do about the current situation other than be patient.
- I don't know about you, but every time I look at old photos, I feel like the entire world existed in black and white. These photos of Memphis in 1944 prove that wrong.
- WKNO's new documentary, "New Madrid: The Earthquakes of 1811 – 1812", will either make you more informed or more terrified, especially since the description promises that it "takes a look at the threat posed to a large section of the country; how much and what kind of damage we might expect if “The Big One” were to strike today?" Watch it on WNKO/Channel 10 on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
- How cute are these kids from the annual Rock'n'Romp Camp? Super cute.
- Lastly, who doesn't love watching a big Memphis thunderstorm roll in?
Have a tip? Submit it and I'll check it out.
