Wednesday News Update: Microbrews, Restaurant News and the Best Grizz Photo Ever

The port and the bridges, Memphis, Tenn.

- The Flyer's Chris Herrington is right: this is the greatest Grizzlies photo of all time.

- Finally! Something's being done with the old Chicago Pizza Factory building in Overton Park. The new restaurant, which is called Chiwawa, will serve a magical (and affordable) combination of authentic Mexican food, hot dogs and Yolo.

- There's also a new microbrewery opening on the Eastern edge of downtown. High Cotton Brewing Company has plans to open a brewery with an attached tap room.

- If you've got too many strawberries (can you have too many strawberries?), the Chubby Vegetarian has a solution in the form of a perfect spring cocktail.

- Mid-South Spay and Neuter Services received a $10,000 grant that's going to allow them to provide spay and neuter services to dogs and cats owned by low-income and senior citizens for $10 - $25.

- Attention, facially hirsute dudes and crafty ladies- you'll want to ditch your razors and stay tuned for a contest coming up later this week.

It is too bad the Chicago piazza factory is closed. Memphis is missing out on the taste of a great deep dish Chicago pizza. I hope the new resteraunt does well.

Is there any other place in the area that serves a pizza that thick and good?

David, that would be called lasagna.  Pizza should be thin!  In all seriousness, I keep hearing about some Chicago style pizza place in Southaven.

That place in Southaven/Horn Lake is call Wise Guys.  And yes it is serious Chicago style deep dish one piece and you're done.
