Monday News Update: Dog Park Upgrades, Prom Dress Recycling and $20 Tattoos
Happy Monday, Memphis! Here's everything you need to know about dog park upgrades, prom dress recycling, Tony Allen's Twitter account and $20 tattoos:
- If you're looking for a job, the Majestic Grille is looking for experienced servers. You have to apply in person, Monday - Thursday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- The Grizzlies' poet laureate Tony Allen got robbed in BuzzFeed's list of the Best Athlete Twitter Accounts. He came in third, but we all know that he and his excessive exclamation point usage deserve first place.
- The off-leash dog park at Shelby Farms has gotten a $31,000 upgrade (including an enclosed space to leash and unleash your pup).
- Give your old prom dress a new life. Memphis Prom Closet is collecting gently used dresses, jewelry and accessories that they'll give to Memphis high schoolers who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford a gown for the big dance. You can donate your dresses at all Memphis Verizon Wireless locations or Bridges Memphis (and if you need more info, you can email event host Brown Girls Dreams).
- Getting a $20 tattoo sounds like a horrible idea in all cases except this one: On March 31, Underground Art is offering small tattoos drawn by their artists for $20 on a first come, first served basis. All of the proceeds will benefit Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue.
