365 Things to Do in Memphis #55: See the Big Kids

Assignment #55 in the 365 Things to Do in Memphis is to spend a nice day on the V&E Greenline with some Big Kids:

Big Kids Sculpture, Memphis, Tenn.

The V&E Greenline is an unpaved trail that runs along an old rail line through Midtown. It starts at Watkins and runs east along North Parkway. At the beginning of the trail, there are large (adorable) blue sculptures called "Big Kids" that were built by 18 Rhodes College students several years ago.

Big Kids, Memphis, Tenn.

You can sort of see them if you're driving west on North Parkway, but for the best view, I recommend parking on one of the residential streets off of Watkins and walking the trail for a better view.

Since it's been a few years, the Big Blue Kids are a little worse for wear, but they're still fun, and they're still a Memphis landmark worth seeing on your walk!
