Wednesday News Update: Free Easy Way, Memphis Oscar Nods and Coach P. Competes for Le Bonheur
It's time for the Wednesday news update, and this week, it's good news for those of you who like Josh Pastner, movies and free produce.
First though, check out this Elvis. Reader Alex M. spotted him at the Madison Market in Gdansk, Poland.
- "Undefeated", the documentary about Memphis' Manassas High School football team, was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Congrats to the filmmakers and stars - it's a well-deserved honor.
- Mark your calendars - Easy Way is doing drive-by produce drops on Feb. 1st. They're giving away about 30 fruit baskets to people who tweet them their location (midtown and downtown only) on that day.
- U of M men's basketball coach Josh Pastner is participating in the Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge this year. NCAA basketball coaches pick a favorite charity (Coach P. picked Le Bonheur Children's Hospital), and fans vote for their favorite coach. The winner's charity will get a $300,000 donation. Vote here.
- Congatulations to Earnestine & Hazel's - the South Main bar was featured in Garden and Gun's list of the "50 Best Southern Bars". Check the current print edition for the feature.
