Wednesday News: Meet the Intern, Buy a Jay Reatard Tee and Give Your Transit Feedback
It's Wednesday, and you know what that means - it's time for a quick Memphis news update.
First, though, there's someone I'd like you to meet.
This is Raquel Miranda Hinson, and she's the I Love Memphis spring intern. She's a senior public relations major at the University of Memphis, a DJ for Q107.5, and a generally pretty great lady. She'll spend her spring writing for I Love Memphis, taking photos and learning the ropes. Follow her on Twitter, and make her feel welcome, ok?
In other news:
- If you love the late, great Jay Reatard and St. Jude, pick up one of these sweet Flying V t-shirts from the Yellow Bird Project. Proceeds from the sale of the $30 t-shirts go to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
- The Memphis Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is looking for public feedback on their long-term public transportation plans. Check out the details and email your comments to the MPO.
- For those of you who are thinking about going to the annual International Blues Challenge (and if you're not, I highly recommend it), you can still purchase advance full festival passes.
