Win a Pair of Tom's, On One Condition

Win a Pair of Tom's, On One Condition

I've got two pairs of Tom's shoes from Lansky 126 to give away to two lucky readers. There's just one small catch.

Because I featured the Tom's in my annual holiday gift guide (and because for every pair of Tom's sold, a pair is donated to someone in need), you can't keep the shoes for yourself.

Tom's shoes from Lansky 126, Memphis, Tenn.

To win, leave a comment telling me who you'll give the shoes to if you win. I'll pick two winners (one pair for a girl and one pair for a guy) at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6th.

Note that the winners won't be determined randomly - I'll select them based on a combination of good story, good reason for gifting the Tom's, and my own personal whims. If your story is completely unbelievable, it probably won't win (unless I can somehow back it up).

Ready, go!

If I win, I will give them to my Mom. She has wanted some for awhile now and is my biggest cheerleader and supporter. I'm not sure I would have made it through this year without her love and support. 2011 hasn't been the best year for my family  but things are looking up now, and I know she would appreciate the shoes so much! Love Tom's!

This might be cheating, but if I am selected, I would give them to the highest bidder when I sell them on eBay and then give the money to the Mid-South Food Bank to help out with buying turkeys for the holidays. #PayItForward

I know of a family with 5 children ranging ages 10-2 that recently lost EVERYTHING in a house fire. I am sure one of those children or even the parents (depending on sizes)  would be thrilled to recieve a new pair of TOMS for christmas!

If I won the pair of girl's Tom's, I'd give them to my daughter.  She's been wanting a pair but I've not had the money to get them for her.  I've just not been able to afford it.  She's a good kid.  Smart girl, on honor roll and she doesn't ask for much...she hasn't really asked for the Tom's.  She doesn't ask, I guess, because she knows I don't have the money for them.   But I've heard her mention that she'd like a pair and I'd like to give her something...could be the only thing she got for Christmas this year.

My sister in law and  her husband who only almost ALWAYS wear flip flops because they live at the beach and it's convenient but Tom's are perfect for Beach Life. they are durable and easy to get sand out.

I'll give these to my best friend, cause she deserves a comfy pair of shoes. She works long hours for an evil corporation, has two small kids, and recently experienced the headache of a big move. Plus our feet will match when we go out!

I would give the shoes to my mom and her sister.  My mom loves TOMS and is always buying the as gifts, but never spends money on herself so she doesn't even have a pair.  I would love to surprise her with a pair of TOMS for Christmas and give her sister (also TOMS-less) a pair because they are not only sisters, but best friends.  Perfect photo-op :)

If I could win the Tom's I would give them to my wonderful grandmother. She is 80 years old and this past summer we went to Florida as a girls trip (me, my mom, my grandmother and my daughter). Four generations of women! My grandmother fell in love with my Toms and luckily we wear the same size shoe. I'm a single mom and can't really afford to get her a $50 gift for Chrismas , although I would really like to get her exactly what she wants...a pair of Tom's. I tried to give her my pair on our trip but she snuck them back in my bag. They are pretty worn out so I feel weird wrapping them as a Christmas gift. My Hip Grandma deserves the Tom's, so please think of her!

I would give them to my co-worker Angel. She has been looking at Toms and talks a lot about ordering them. She's a big talker and she needs some fancy shoes for tip toeing around our office. Help me help you give that girl a new pair of shoes

Well, I know 2 boys, sorry no girls that need new shoes this year and their parents, who both work just do not make enough to cover their health needs and extras like new shoes.  They live in Memphis in the University District and they would be really blessed to have new shoes for Christmas now when they really need them.   I know you said a boy and a girl but if possible 2 boys would be thrilled and very grateful.

I have been wanting to get my mom some Tom's forever! But on my poor student budget that's just not happening. But I love my mom and I love my Toms! Plus she thinks mine are ugly (and yes they are but they are so comfy and amazing) that I have to prove her wrong! And no I'm not a 14 year old trying to spite my mom. I'm a 25 year old trying to spite my mom! Ha!

I would give the shoes to my mom, who needs something easy to wear on her feet, comfortable and she won't have a hard time getting them on.

We've been struggling and living with my in-laws. My mother-in-law and my wife wear the same size shoes and so of course my wife's shoes keep disappearing.  She's infatuated with Tom's and vows to own a pair one day, but now that we're moving out on our own soon and she could keep them all to herself, I'd definitely give them to my wife.

I would give them to my dear friend.  Her husband lost his job on the day after Thanksgiving due to downsizing.  A few days after that I took her to lunch and noticed that she has a small hole in the sole of her Tom's shoe.  She loves those shoes and wears them all the time.  I didn't say anything about it to her, but I know she won't be able to purchase new shoes until her husband finds a new job.  I would love to be able to give her a pair of new shoes.

I would gift them to my wife because she is pregnant with our first child.  From what I hear, she will need some comfortable shoes in the coming months/years.

I don't have anyone specifically in mind, but I would wrap them up and send them to Memphis Family Shelter. I love the fact that they are donating a pair to someone in need for every pair sold and if I won then two some-ones will get a pair!

if i win these shoes i would give them to my dear friend Karen who i met on my holiday to Memphis in august 2011 for the Elvis pilgrim, if it wasn't for Karen and her husband john i would have hated every minute of my holiday but i met them in the holiday inn hotel down town Memphis and as the 2 friends i came with didn't want to look around or go any where except to the pilgrim , i would have had a very boring 2 weeks holliday and after saving so hard for 2 years i was feeling i wasted my money on a holiday that i was looking so much to after traveling 13 hours, Karen and her husband took me under their wing showed me around every where to mud island , the civil rights museum, and a few other different museums and my fave place was lansky's shop but alas i could not afford anything but i took quiet a few pictures which i treasure, to remind me that i had a fab time down to these 2 people and although we live about 700 miles from each other we have stayed friends and planned to return to Memphis in august 2013 so please please consider Karen as she loves Elvis and if it wasn't for her kindness and generosity i would have had a really bad holliday thank you Teresa

I'd like to gift these to the worlds best babysitter... although the word "babysitter" doesn't really do her justice. Megan Staggs is like family to us. She moved to Memphis a few years back to go through the Downline Emerging Leaders Program and stuck around because she loved the people and opportunities for serving families in need in Memphis. Rather than making bank on a 9-5 job, she risked it all with a babysitting service that would love young families and serve / love their little ones when the parents weren't able to. Her family is in far west Texas so she only gets to go home every now and then - so the families that she works with have become her family. My family is proud to call her family. Megan is more than worthy of a new pair as a new Memphian who decided to move here, decided to serve here and with all the kid chasing she does, I'm betting she could use a new pair.

I have a 15 year old daughter who will be turning 16 in January.  She is not your average fashion diva...she just likes what she likes.  Her main concern is "is it comfortable".  She is very athletic and my brain child.  She has her pilot certificate and flies gliders.  She aspires to be an astronaut (if anyone can - she can).  She will begin training as a "jumper" in 2012.  I believe she would love Tom's if she would just try them and see how comfortable they really are - they would certainly fit her "style".

My daughter loves TOMS.  They fit her general relazed sense of style and she repects your donation practices. I don't buy them for her due to cost and her other needs.  I would give them to her and she would be gratfully surprised!

I would like to let my son donate them to our church - Grace-St. Luke's. We are planning to attend the Moveable Feast this week whish is a program they do for children. At each 'feast' they teach a lesson and then ask you to bring something. This month the lesson will center on the Christmas celebration and the true reason for it. They have asked each child to bring a new pair of shoes to donate. These will be given to children in need around the Memphis area. My son is 3.5 and very excited about Christmas this year; however, I also want him to remember it is important to give.

I would donate them to the Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services for auction.  Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation in the Tri-State area and reducing the high rate of euthanasia by offering affordable and often free spay and neuter services to the public in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.

I would love to win the shoes and give them two my two daughters. Just lost my job this morning, so Christmas may be rather bleak. They are two awesome teenagers who deserve so much better than I can give them. Good luck everyone.

I would like for my daughter to have a pair, because she has been raising her three kids practically on her own for eighteen years. She works  full time and has a very bad back and her feet ache as she is always on them. She is young for having to ache like that. She needs a comfy pair of shoes! The second would go to my sister, who has helped my family through many years and is having a rough time with her job.She is always on her feet too.Times are rough for her,but she still wants to give. She would love these neat shoes too!!

I don't know if these particular Toms are available, but if you could get ahold of a pair of these: http://www.toms.com/movember-highlands-grey-black-waxed-twill-men-s-botas I would like to give them to one of my old college roommates. Khalid.  He personally raised $1,475 during Movember to help lead his team to a total of $42,916. http://us.movember.com/mospace/2176376/

I would like for  my daughter to have a pair.  My daughter has 2 kids and everything she does it's for them.  She nevers buys herself anything it is all for her kids.  Whenever I buy something for her when I'm able she tells me (to take it back because she don't need it) take the money you used on me and buy the kids something with it.  She is always thinking of others and not herself.  I wish I was able to do more for her and the kids.  Even though she only works parttime she still does her best to make sure that her kids have what they need.  I know she will be excited if I was able to get them for her.

I would give the Toms to my daughter, Chandler. She has a pair of hand-me-down Toms from her cousin in Nashville, but they have holes in them because she has worn them out!! I lost my job recently, and I cant afford to buy her any right now. She wants a pair for Christmas so bad, but I have other children as well, so $50.00 shoes just aren't in the budget, unfortunately.

I would give them to my sister and her husband.  They are going through a really hard time right now with some health issues.  Man, they are some super awesome troopers and I dearly love/respect them.  I would paint cheesily across them "him' and "hers" and let them wear them with pride.  They love being married and hold each other in great esteem.  All tokens that I can do to lift their spirits in this time...I am going for it.  Love reading the stories above.  Great idea to see what is going on in the hearts of our city.  Happy Holidays everybody!

My work adopts a Hope House family every year, a non-profit organization in town that helps families with children who have AIDS, during the holidays.  I know our family this year could benefit from some shoes. We have 8 families this year, so I know it is on a list or two!

I would love to win these shoes to give to my sister for Christmas.  She spent a year of her life taking care of our critically ill father who passed away in July and she then immediately joined the army and I cannot wait to see her when she comes home this Christmas holiday!  I would love to give her a pair of Tom's shoes for Christmas.  Thank you for your consideration :)

If I win we will give them to Monica, on the housekeeping staff at Bass Pro Shops.  This year she's taken in all of her nieces and nephews, as well as her mother, and has a house full and a job that requires her to be on her feet all day!  The other associates got together and surprised her with new tires for her car a few months ago, and I know she could use some sparkly Tom's with her Christmas hug.

Being Dad to teenage daughters is often quite challenging for me. My eldest daughter (15) and I have been in a rough patch lately. I hate to admit it, but it really is all MY fault. (Hey, if the shoe fits, wear it.)  I’d love to give a pair of Tom’s to her as a sort of peace offering. It might help me get my foot in the door to start a dialogue. That’ll certainly be a step in the right direction. Hopefully we’ll get off on the right foot, but I must be careful not to put my foot in my mouth. And if I remember to walk a mile in her shoes, chances are good I won’t shoot myself in the foot.

I would give these shoes to my best friend Jessica! I don't live in Memphis right now and she always gives up her home to me and let's me visit my favorite city :) she loves toms and I love her so I think it would be a great pick!

I would give them to my granddaughter.  She is a senior at UCA and is always broke.   She works very hard.  She is an honor student plus works a job at night.    She has one pair of Toms that I bought for her at the beginning of this semester.  Needless to say, she wears them constantly and they look like they need to be replaced. She could have bought 2 "cheaper" pair of shoes with the money I gave her.  She said she wanted Toms because the company sends a free pair to needy children and she would love to know that she helped somebody else. We would both be so happy if Lansky 126 would choose to give this pair of Toms to Britney Toombs

I would give the girl pair to my friend/co-worker that I am the secret santa of this year. She has always wanted a pair of Tom's, but as hard working single mother of two, they have been out of her reach. I would give the guy pair to my son, because they fit his style.

If I win, I will give them to my brother. When we were younger we had typical sibling squabbles but then he joined the Air Guard during a time of war and after completing his training and a year of duty in other countries (including the middle east), became a full-time student to become a youth pastor while staying in the Guard. He is always there for our family and takes such good care of our mother making sure bills are all paid and the house is taken care of. I'm so incredibly proud of him and I hope he knows it.

My wife deserves a pair of Tom's, something she has wanted for some time. She is a former preschool teacher who now stays home with our two kids all day while I teach middle schoolers in Frayser. It's a sacrifice, as it is tough to support a family of four on a teacher's salary, but it is worth it to see how much the kids learn. They devour books, build things, make arts and crafts, and even bake goodies. It takes patience - and I couldn't do it - but I'm glad that she does. With my days long because of meetings and sports, she deserves something special.
