What does Memphis have that other cities don’t have? Soul….Memphis has a soul, energy, and vibe about it that is very pure.
I’m working on: getting acclimated to being back in the city and my new job and working on ways to get involved in the city that I love.
You know you’re from Memphis when: you can distinguish between the "old" bridge and "new" bridge over the Mississippi River. You remember Dave Brown from Saturday morning wrestling.
My favorite annual Memphis event is: Music Fest or Dead Week (aka Elvis Week, which is held on the anniversary of Elvis' death).
If I could change anything about Memphis, it would be: that people would realize what a great city they live in and take an active role in making it even better. All cities have problems, but it is up to the community to work together to change those problems. We should take advantage of the creativity and passion that that people have for this city and extrapolate that across all communities and neighborhoods.
The last restaurant I went to was: Mayuri
When friends come to visit Memphis, I take them to: Gus' Fried Chicken, the river and the zoo.
I’m excited about: the endless possibilities that the city has to become greater than it is and the opportunity that I have to make a difference in this city. Also, Tiger basketball season. GTG!
It’s Saturday night. You’ll find me: from Germantown to downtown and everywhere in between.
I love Memphis because: it is a city that has a soul and energy that you can feel just by being here. It has countless opportunities if you are willing to look for them and work hard. I love Memphis because there is so much passion and energy to move this city forward that is coming from the next generation of the city's leaders. Memphis is my home, and home is where the heart is.
