Katie Mars has one of the coolest-sounding jobs ever: she works in media and marketing for Green Machine Concerts, which means that she gets to promote shows at venues around the country (including at the Snowden Grove Ampitheatre).

Here's why she loves Memphis:

"Memphis just has this infectious authenticity about it that you find yourself missing when you leave. People either absolutely love Memphis or they just don’t get it. It’s easy to be blinded by the flaws, especially if you haven’t dug around a little bit. Also, the creative community here has this passion you just can’t find anywhere else. Passion could also be used to describe Tiger Basketball. There is nothing like the atmosphere of the packed Fedex Forum during a big game. It’s magical (and this is coming from a UT graduate)."
