Andrea Ballenger is a freelance artist who paints, draws, designs and makes lamps. When she's not doing that, she works at Anthropologie in Germantown.
In other news:
- Tennessee is getting a new arts license plate, and you get to help pick what it looks like. Vote for your favorite designs here (and know that the Jack Daniels-inspired plate got my highest vote).
- The University of Memphis basketball team got a commitment today from Shaq Goodwin. He's the 19th overall ranked prospect for the class of 2012, so this is a big get. Congrats, Shaq, and congrats, Memphis.
- There's (another) new restaurant opening in Cooper-Young. Mulan Chinese Restaurant's midtown outpost is taking the space formerly occupied by Blue Fish at the corner of Cooper and Young. There will be a bubble tea room, lunch specials, and dinner for less than $20.
- If you live in Mississippi (or somewhere else that's having elections today), don't forget to vote.
