In other news:
- There's been some big news for Overton Square in the last 24 hours. First, Mayor A C Wharton approved bike lanes on Madison between Cooper and McNeil (where the trolley starts). Secondly, Loeb Properties unveiled their plans for the Sqaure's redevelopment into a theater district. This is all very exciting - I can't wait to see what Overton Square becomes.
- Attention, food truck fans. According to the Downtown Memphis Facebook page, the Fuel Cafe truck will be parked downtown today. Stay tuned for details.
- Speaking of food, voting is open in the annual Memphis Magazine restaurant poll. You've got until the end of the month to cast your ballots.
- The Broad Ave. Arts District has one giant mural, but they've secured space for a second. Now, all they need is someone to design it. They're holding a design contest for a piece that will cover the street's iconic water tower. The contest isn't officially open yet, but you can find more details here.
- Sidenote: Memphis Madness is now two days away. Hello, basketball season! We've missed you.
