Random Cultural Opportunity of the Week
Operas can be intimidating. They're long, they're dramatic, and more often than not, sung in a language you don't understand. Opera Memphis understands this.
They're also inviting you to take a chance on the art form.
Opera Memphis is looking for Memphians who have never been to an opera before to take part in a new program. Here's how it works: You've never been to an opera, but you're open to going. Opera Memphis hooks you up with two free tickets to all three of the company's performances this season. After the show, you fill out a short survey and give a short interview after the show. Easy, right?
Ned Canty, the company's director, is holding five spots in this new program for I Love Memphis readers. If you'd like to participate, leave a comment on this post. I'll randomly pick five people at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.

This is awesome! I would love more than anything to be able to be a part of this. My grandmother is always telling me how much she loves the opera and I have never been able to see one. I love theatre so much. It is my passion and I would love to be able to broaden my horizons a little more and get in on this.
