Miracles Performed, Style Tips Given, and Krogers Born
Thomas Robinson (Memphian no. 257 / 365) is the gastronomical mastermind behind one of my favorite local food blogs, Eat Local Memphis. He writes funny (and informative) reviews of locally-owned restaurants, and his pictures never fail to make me hungry. When he's not doing that, he's a development officer at MIFA and coaches lacrosse.
In other news:
- If you need a feel-good story today, I've got a big one: Doctors at Le Bonheur was able to successfully separate a pair of conjoined twins yesterday. The procedure, which took 13 hours, is being called "the most complex procedure ever performed" at the 59 year-old hospital.
- Attention, Project Runway fans - season two cast member Santino Rice (known for his hilarious Tim Gunn impersonations) will be at Macy's Oak Court this Saturday to offer style tips, and host a fashion face off. Beale St. Chic has more info.
- Alas, poor Schnucks is really done for real. Four of the former Schnucks stores - Midtown, Stonebridge, Whitehaven and Horn Lake - will re-open as Krogers this weekend.
- As of today, there are 108 days left in 2011. That means I need almost 108 more Memphians to take part in the 365 Memphians photo series. If you'd like to be photographed for the series, I'm having a photo shoot day on Friday, Oct. 7th at Emerge Memphis from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. If you'd like to participate, email me and let me know what time you'd like to come by to have your picture taken.
