Memphis Mystery Train Set List: Sept. 8, 2011
Today's show was bookend-ed with birthday tributes to Buddy Holly and Freddy Mercury. Between that, there was plenty of rock'n'roll and a visit from Katie Boyle from the Strawberry Plains Audubon Center in Holly Springs, Miss.
She taught me all kinds of things - namely that hummingbirds build their nests out of spider webs and that armadillos are really, really easy to scare. She also told me about the Humming Bird Migration Celebration which is happening this weekend in Holly Springs.
Here's what I played on the show this week, with the local tracks asterisked as always:
Weezer - Buddy Holly
The Egyptians - Party Stomp
Noah and the Whale - Jealous Kind of Love
Detroit Cobras - Break Away
Belle and Sebastian - To Be Myself Completely
