Meet Memphian No. 237: Alison Duckett

365 Memphians - Allison Duckett
Memphian no. 237, Alison Duckett is a tattoo artist at the Tattoo Spot on Highland (she was photographed in her work space). Here, she answers my questions about her favorite food, the best tattoo she's given, and what she would do on her last night in town: Name: Alison Duckett Occupation: artist at the Tattoo Spot Hometown: Miami, Florida Neighborhood: Hickory Hill I’m excited about: Memphis Roller Derby & Sunday afternoons on the Young Avenue Deli patio The most awesome tattoo I’ve ever given was: One of my customers died in a car accident about a month after I tattooed her. Her brother came into the shop to get the same exact tattoo. I was very honored to give him a piece of his sister that would last forever. The last band I saw was: Speakerboxx at the Cooper Young Festival last year. Their energy was out the roof & they were funkier than the rest! If it was my last day in Memphis, I would: gather my friends at the Deli for one last round of drinks and watch the sunset at Tom Lee Park. The last thing I ate was: pizza from Young Avenue Deli with chicken, pepperoni, onions, extra cheese, extra sauce. When I was little, I wanted to be: a rock star. I’m working on: my patience. My favorite annual Memphis event is: free shows at the Levitt Shell. I love Memphis because: I didn't like Memphis as a child but when I was old enough to enjoy all that Memphis had to offer, I began to love it with each following year.
