(In honor of Elvis Week 2011, I’m having an Elvis-themed Monday. All day, immersed in the world of Elvis – checking out his favorite places, eating where he ate, and doing some of the things he did in an attempt to find out why after so many years, Elvis is still so fascinating for so many people.) I was clearly in Monday mode when I got dressed this morning. I left the house in a plain gray t-shirt, cuffed jeans and my sneakers. That's not very Elvis of me. Never mind that it's not a jumpsuit or crazy color combination, there's not a single sequin on my outfit. If I'm going to spend a day like the king, I'm going to have to have some bling. One quick trip to Michael's, a few pricked fingers and five minutes later, I've corrected my sartorial wrongs: Viva las Starbucks at White Station and Poplar!
