Memphis Mystery Train Set List: July 8

Memphis Mystery Train Set List: July 8

I had a few special guest rock'n'rollers on the Memphis Mystery Train this morning. Marcella Pinilla and Matt Mages at WEVL Matt Mages of the band Arvada and Marcella Pinilla from the Delta Collective stopped by this morning to talk about their bands, which were formed through the Memphis Music Foundation's 48 Hour Music Launch. The four finalist bands are showcasing at the New Daisy on Friday night (6:30 p.m., $5), with the winning band receiving $5,000 in music industry prizes (like studio time and merch). Before and after they came, though, there was rock'n'roll. Here's what I played on the Mystery Train this morning, with the local tracks marked with an asterisk: Belle and Sebastian - The State I Am In The Egyptians - The Party Stomp *Warren Smith - Red Cadillac and a Black Mustache Badly Drawn Boy - You Were Right Those Darlins - It's Hard Lemon Jelly - The Staunton Lick *Harlan T.
