Payne's Barbecue Sauce, Half-Price Baked Goods, Overton Park Meetings and Craig Brewer at the Orpheum

365 Memphians - Whitni Henri
Whitni Henri is a lifelong Memphian and graphic designer for a downtown investment bank. Here she is, stopping traffic with some of her work on North Main. In other news: - On Friday night, the Orpheum is starting the all-Memphis portion of their summer movie series with the made-in-Memphis feature "Hustle and Flow". As part of the festivities, writer / director / Memphian Craig Brewer will open the screening with a brief discussion about the film. The movie starts at 7:15 on Friday night, and tickets are $7 for adults. - I got some good news when I stopped by YoLo Midtown yesterday to pick up some treats from Lady Bugg Bakery. All of the bakery items are going to be half-price on Mondays. The bakery is now closed on Mondays, meaning that the items are "day old", thus, less expensive. Get a coconut basil macaroon and thank me later. - According to the Goner message board (which you can totally trust in this matter), Payne's  is now selling jars of their hot and mild barbecue sauce. Stop by the restaurant (1762 Lamar Avenue) to get some. - There's a public meeting tonight to discuss the future of Overton Park. It's from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the main gallery of the Memphis College of Art. If you can't make it to the meeting, there's an online survey you can fill out.
