CY Restaurant News, a Town Hall, an Empty Building and Booker T. on NPR

365 Memphians: Corinne Blake
Corinne is at at the top of the Calvary Waffle Shop hierarchy: she makes the waffles. In other news: - Booker T. and the MG's are going to be featured on NPR's "All Songs Considered" as part of their series of Tiny Desk Concerts. They posted a photo of Booker T.'s Hammond B-3 organ being loaded into their office this morning. - The Commercial Appeal has an interesting look at the long-empty Sears Crosstown space from the building's only employee, Frank the nightwatchman. - Mayor Wharton is hosting a town hall meeting with Memphis International president Larry Cox tonight for airport employees, officials and neighbors. If you live near the airport, you might want to check it out. It's at 6 p.m. at 4225 Airways Blvd. - Good restaurant news, Cooper-Young diners: a brand new vegan restaurant called Imagine will open in the old Casablanca space in two weeks, Ben Vaugn's new taqueria is now open, and you can now get a drink (and chicken and waffles) in Sweet Grass's recently opened other half.
