A New Contract, A Giant Mural, Road Closures and Fro-Yo News

365 Memphians - Jerrod Taylor
Happy birthday to Jerrod Taylor, the newest cupcake slinger at Muddy's Bakeshop. In other news: - Congratulations to Tiger basketball coach Josh Pastner for renewing his contract with the University of Memphis. He'll be around for five more years, at $1.7 million per year. - In frozen yogurt news, TCBY is the most recent place to jump on the self-serve yogurt train. Their new self-serve store will open at Poplar and Highland on April 9th. Locally owned fro-yo emporium YoLo is having a special tasting of the winning gelato flavors from their Flavor Creation contest on Friday, April 1 at their midtown store from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Ten dollars gets you regular-sized samples of all five winning flavors. - For those of you heading home from downtown this afternoon, Madison Ave. is blocked between Main and Second while work crews demolish an empty building that's roof collapsed earlier this week. - Check out these photos of Central High School's brand new mural-in-progress. It's going to be awesome (and massive) when it's done.
