Random Alley Gallery of the Week
Random Alley Gallery of the Week
There's a surprisingly large concentration of art in the narrow alley between Marshall and Union (near Sun Studio). For as long as I can remember, the alley walls have been home to an ever changing gallery of urban art of all kinds.
There are giant murals:
There are urban totem poles (utility poles decorated with colorful scraps of wood):
There are men on doors:
And on boxes:
You can see some of the pieces from Union Ave.

You can see it driving west on Union (it'll be on your right, just across from the Commercial Appeal), or you can see it by driving down the alley between Escape Alley and Quetzal.

nice one on the alley Kerry. That always gets a "real" gasp when I cruise through it on tour.
The alley behind the new Sam Phillips recording studio is equally breathtaking.
I really like the term Alley Gallery. I'll use it.Thanks for that.
