The WDIA Sign Goes Missing, the Skate Park is Rendered, and Turkeys are Needed
I know there's some work being done on the Radio Flats building, but did they have to get rid of the fabulous neon WDIA sign? I hope it's somewhere safe. Does anyone know where it got to or if they plan to put it back?
In other news:
- Skatelife Memphis has some awesome renderings of the Tobey skate park. It looks pretty cool - they've made sure to include areas for all skill levels.
- So far, no one has donated any turkeys to the Mid-South Food Bank for their annual Thanksgiving dinners. At this time last year, the non-profit had hundreds. If you'd like to donate a turkey to a needy family, drop it off at the Food Bank's offices on Dudley between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday - Friday

I can't find the article right now, but there was a story a couple of months ago on one of the local news sites that noted they would be taking the sign down until the reno was complete and that it will be going back up.

I used to live in that building. Everything was brand new... what's being renovated?

I actually was downtown the other day and noticed that all mentions of WDIA were taken completely off almost and a new sign that says "iBERIABANK" has taken it's place.
