South Memphis Gets a Farmer's Market, Buffalos Get Names

In other news:
- Shelby Farms has a brand new baby buffalo that they need some help naming. The choices are eclectic, but my favorites are Banjo, Meatball, and Shia LaBuffalo. Vote for your favorite. The winning name will be announced on Saturday at the 2nd annual Buffalo Party.
- South Memphis is getting a farmer's market of its very own. The neighborhood, which was previously deemed a food desert (meaning that residents have little access to healthy food), will now have a weekly market on Thursdays from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m at the corner of South Parkway E. and Mississippi Blvd. It starts next week.

Who is sponsoring / organizing the farmer's market? That's great news!

I had to vote for the name Waldo for the buffalo because I can here all the kids asking, "Mom, where's Waldo?"
Love your blog. It's so nice to see Memphis cast in a positive light for a change. I'm a transplant from Louisiana, but this is home. And after a decade, there are parts of the city I still haven't seen.
