Your New Favorite Band: The Hot Pink Paperclips
Your New Favorite Band: The Hot Pink Paperclips
Everyone, meet Terra, Kylia, Abby and Nykkoa. They're the Hot Pink Paper Clips, my favorite Memphis teenage girl band.
The Hot Pink Paper Clips got their start a little over a year ago at Delta Girls Rock Camp. Since then, they've been on stage everywhere from Rock'n'Romp to the HiTone.
Don't let the fact that none of them can legally buy a beer fool you - they're awesome. They sound a little bit like a dreamy, poppy Sleater-Kinney. The songs are cute-but-smart and completely catchy. I've had "Livin' It" stuck in my head since I went over to drummer Abby's house to film the band in rehearsal last week.
If you want to see the Hot Pink Paper Clips live, check out these upcoming shows:
Children's Museum of Memphis 20th Birthday Celebration,
(Wednesday, June 16th, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.)
Levitt Shell Kids Series
(Tuesday, July 6th, 10:30 a.m.)

These young ladies are amazing! I saw them bring down the house at the hard rock, last year. They had apx 200 Pearl Jam fans cheering for an encore. Check these young ladies out if you get the chance. You'll be able to say, "I remember when I saw them (where)" These girls are sure to be true rock stars.
