- US goalkeeper Tim Howard is representing for Memphis at the World Cup. His wife is from Memphis, and they've made their summer home here because the city is so laid back. Tim, say hi next time you're in town, ok?
- TNT's new Memphis-themed cop show "Memphis Beat" is premiering next week, and we're having a watch party. Come pass judgment on the show, which stars Jason Lee as a cop / Elvis impersonator at South of Beale at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22nd. We'll have some giveaways and happy hour drink specials.
- Congratulations to Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center. Their new addition, a 610,000 square foot hospital had its grand opening this morning. The building is full of state-of-the-art technology, art from local artists, and all of the resources needed to offer world-class pediatric care to its 130,000 annual patients.
