There are going to be drinks, hors de oeuvres, a keynote by Tom Schmitt and some great Memphis entertainment (including a performance by Teflon Don). - If you want to check out Barbecue Fest on the cheap, Paul R. told me that admission to the park is free on Thursday and Friday during lunch. You still won't be able to score food from the competing teams unless you know someone, but there will be barbecue and other food vendors in the park. - About a month ago, I made a very Memphis mix CD for a friend that I was trying to convince to move to Memphis. Alas, it didn't work, and said friend will be headed to Austin any day now. He did assure me that it wasn't the mix tape's fault.
