Photo #80, Sivad, the Village People, and a Photo Booth
Photo #80 is a a big bowl of one of my favorite Southern delicacies, Rotel. It's melted Velveeta with a can of Rotel tomatoes mixed in. Eat it on tortilla chips, and it's perfect.
In other news:
- The Sivads of March kicks off tonight at the Brooks Museum. It's sort of a mini-film festival honoring Sivad, a local horror movie host who used to be on WHBQ. There are going to be screenings of 1950s horror movies and a special Sivad-themed edition of Lil' Film Fest.
- Speaking of film festivals, there's going to be a fund raising trip to Tunica to see the Village People. All of the money will benefit Outflix, Memphis' GLBT film festival.
- As of this morning, I've got a new favorite local radio show. My Fellow Statesman John H. hosts a show called Memphis Mystery Train every Thursday morning from 8 a.m. - 10 a.m on WEVL. Today, he played some garage rock, some songs in French, and plenty of accordion-heavy Tex-Mex.
- Sneak Peek is having an event called 5 for $5 Friday Fotoshoot tomorrow. They're going to have a photobooth set up at their shop on South Main, and you can get your photo taken. The photos will be emailed after the event.

Well, there's that orange Velveeta or the cheaper and just as good Kroger clone, and you can keep the salsa and cheese separate, which is especially good when you use the queso blanco "velveeta" with jalapeno.

Cheryl
ever tried adding browned, crumbled breakfast sausage to your rotel? and making it half rotel, half cream cheese? if i'm feeling naughty, i add in a chopped jalapeno.
