I had lunch at Fratelli's (located at the Memphis Botanic Garden) today. They've got a half-panini / bowl of soup combo that can't be beat. During the summer, they've got tables on their porch, which looks out on the rose garden.
In other news:
- Southern Living magazine is releasing a Farmer's Market Cookbook that will feature several Memphis-area farmer's markets. The book will be in stores on March 16, just in time for farmer's market season.
- The panhandling ordinance that I mentioned a few days ago was approved by the city council safety committee. This means that it'll go before the entire council on April 13.
- Congratulations to Chef Ben Smith from Tsunami in Cooper Young. He was selected as the 2010 Restaurateur of the Year by the Memphis Restaurant Association.
- I'm stoked about going to South by Southwest in a few weeks, especially because one of my all-time favorite Memphis bands, Big Star, will be playing at Antone's on Saturday, March 20. If you won't be in Austin, Big Star is going to kick off the 2010 season of shows at the Levitt Shell in Overton Park on May 15.

Tsunami is a fantastic restaurant. Good to see Ben get the accolades he deserves.
