Saying Goodbye to Anderton's

Saying Goodbye to Anderton's

Andertons Facade, Memphis, Tenn.
The last of the old Anderton's Restaurant facade on Madison was demolished today. When I stopped by, several members of Memphis Heritage were there, gathering up some of the more beautiful bits of the old building. I'm going to miss the big green landmark. Anderton's was one of my favorite Memphis restaurants when it was open. If you miss Andertons, you can stop by the Cove for a drink. They've got Anderton's entire collection of  paintings, mirrors,  boat wheels, and the amazing pirate ship-shaped bar. Here's some more information on the facade.

That’s so strange. That place was one of my earliest memories of Memphis. I’d never been inside, but I was always taken in by the style of the place. It always seemed trapped in the past. It’s Sad to see it go

Wow, amazing! Great job! I love my bike, but sometimes I'm seriously limited because it's so heavy (it's a 1950s era cruiser).
