It means cocktail parties downtown! If you head to Court Square downtown around 4:30 p.m., you can get a little liquid courage for the Court Square karaoke contest. Local karaoke superstars (and those that think they are) will start competing for a $500 grand prize at 5:30. Even if you didn't sign up in time to sing, go anyway - there's a $200 prize for audience favorite. Your vote could make someone's day. If you're not into watching your fellow citizens belting out the hits, the Memphis Flyer is having Work It Wednesday at  5 p.m. at Automatic Slim's Tonga Club on Second. There are food and drink specials, too - all martinis are $5, all other drinks are $1 off and appetizers are half price.
