Josh Pastner Doesn't Curse, the Brooks is Free Today and Memphian #12 Keeps the City Beautiful
Andre Gibson, photographed at Bardog Tavern.
By day, Andre works at Buckman Laboratories. By night (well, by day, really), he works to make Memphis a more sustainable place with Memphis City Beautiful. The former Memphis Flyer Hottie (2010 class) is one of the minds behind last year's GreenUp Festival. Fun fact: He's also a huge Anfernee Hardaway fan.
In other news:
- It's a well-known fact that U of M baskteball Coach Pastner is squeaky-clean, somehow managing not to cuss, even during this year's frustrating season. The Commercial Appeal's Geoff Calkins has a column on the phenomenon.
- Today's Wednesday, and you know what that means - pay-what-you-can day at the Brooks Museum. If you've got some free time, stop by and check out their new exhibit, (Extra)Ordinary: the Story of Documentary Photography and the American South.
- The snow is melting, but the snowmen are holding out. I like this one, fist raised defiantly at the sun (and everyone driving down Cooper).
