Pickleball 901 Announces Pop-Up 2024 Summer Event Series

Looking to learn pickleball or sharpen your swing? A series of pop-up pickleball courts will be making a return with the announcement of the 2024 Pickleball 901 Summer Series presented by Orion.

In 2023, Pickleball 901 started hosting pop-up pickleball events across Memphis. This summer will feature seven events at various locations.

You may have seen last year how Pickleball 901 was introducing the fastest growing sport around the city with  pop-ups on Beale Street and local breweries like Wiseacre, Memphis Made, and Grind City. This summer the series continues with seven more stops.

Each event will feature four pickleball courts, music, local food & beer, vendors, and a variety of other engaging activities. Pickleball will be 100% free and open to individuals of all ages.

The Summer Series will kick off on Saturday, May 11, immediately following the Orion 5K in the Edge District. Most events will span the whole weekend, with Saturdays featuring free pickleball for the public, followed by a Sunday tournament with a cash prize.

Hello! I'm Jalyn Souchek, the Director of Content for I Love Memphis Blog! I love calling the 901 home. When I'm not running the blog you can find me cheering on the Grizzlies, at a concert, exploring a new restaurant or kicking back at one of our breweries. I hope you'll love experiencing Memphis with me.

Build your perfect Memphis meal:

I love to eat so if I were to have only one meal left.. I’m going all out. I’d start with an app of Gumbo Fries from Blue City Cafe or Bayou Fries from Chef Tam, wings from Good Fortune or Central’s (honey gold and Jamaican Jerk), potato salad from Fat Larry’s, side of bbq spaghetti from Bar-B-Q Shop, and fried okra from Soul Fish. All paired with a Beale Street Brewing Space Age Sippin’.

Your most memorable Memphis moment:

College GameDay on Beale Street. That was an electric and perfect morning. I was still working in news then and was able to take it in up close and on the stage at some points. The fun and joy of everyone down there that morning is unbeatable.
