Clara & the Nutcracker

Clara & the Nutcracker is a charming rendition of the classic holiday tale about young Clara and her adventures. After wandering through a magnificent Toy Shop and Christmas party, Clara finds herself in a battle with the Prince and Mouse King in a land of snow. After the battle, at the end of her adventure, she rendezvous with the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Kingdom of Sweets.

Audiences have been delighted for years by the exquisite classical training and performing skills of the Children's Ballet Theater dancers who fill most ensemble and principal roles in this Memphis treasure. Beautiful hand made costumes and amusing, lively choreography transport the audience to Clara's world in the late 1700s, while guest dancers from the Tennessee Ballet Theater add to the magnificence of the show. The 90 minute performance is directed by Mary Van Dyke and Erin Walter.
