Marcella Simien( ft. Infinity Stairs) & Talibah Safiya

Marcella’s debut solo album, To Bend to the Will of a Dream That's Being Fulfilled, captures this deeply personal journey. She played every instrument, wrote every lyric, and sang every vocal part herself. “I felt it necessary to have my hand touch every aspect of this collection of music,” she says. “This was a deeply personal, very physical experience to go through, and it was imperative that I used my body as the vehicle to create every tone and texture of this project.”

The album resonates with the sounds of the South, blending traditional instruments like the accordion and frottoir with contemporary production and electronic elements. Influenced by her love for Rāga and Indian music, Marcella also incorporates the harmonium and tanpura, creating a unique soundscape that reflects her journey of spirituality, ancestral healing, and self-acceptance.

Talibah Safiya is an independent Soul Artist and a captivating story teller from Memphis TN. Using minimal but impactful instrumentation and visually stimulating lyricism, Talibah deeply connects you to her story and your own.

Her debut project “Love Spells Live” was released in March of 2023 in collaboration with the University of Memphis’s Highwater Records. Her second project with Highwater Records is “Black Magic” was released in 2024. It is a reimagining of blues Classics from the Highwater catalog including artists like Junior Kimbrough and Jessie Mae Hemphill. This project is done in collaboration with 77x gold and platinum engineer and producer Ari Morris, visual artist, and producer, Bradon Deener, and multi-instrumentalist producer, Madame Fraankie. She has written songs for RapSh!t on HBO Max, Sexxy Red, and more.
