South Memphis Glide RideApril 26, 2018, 6:00 pm-7:00 pm
Bicycle through the South Memphis neighborhood on a free community ride during the weekly Spring South Memphis Glide Rides! This bicycle ride, led by The Big Jump Teen Ambassadors, will take scenic views through South Memphis and consider how to improve bicycle facilities and connectivity within the South Memphis area.
For this ride, you should be able to ride for about an hour, at an easy pace. We like to chat while we ride! This ride is rain or shine! We will have a some adult sized bicycles available to borrow, on a first come, first served basis.
The Big Jump Project is a national initiative provided by a People for Bikes grant, designed to help 10 cities radically reimagine their bicycling infrastructure while, at the same time, helping to propel communities nationwide into a better future for bicycling. The Big Jump Teen Ambassadors are a group of 10 teenagers who live and attend school in the South Memphis neighborhood. These teenagers have volunteered their time to learn how to advance their community through The Big Jump Project.
Revolutions Bicycle Cooperative, The Works, Inc. and City of Memphis Bike/Ped Program have partnered together to make The Glide Ride possible.
