Positively Creative SummitSeptember 21, 8:30 am-3:00 pm
Arrow Creative has partnered with the Positively Creative Podcast to host a series of classes and events for local creatives and entrepreneurs. “The Positively Creative Summit and Series was born out of a need we saw in the creative entrepreneur community for conversation that uplifts as well as educates,” says Dorothy Collier, cofounder of Arrow. “We are thrilled to highlight and hear from local industry experts about their visionary methods and hard work practices to create thriving creative careers.” Speakers and panelists at the Summit will collaborate with Arrow to provide community education classes starting in the Fall at current Arrow studios, 64 Flicker St.
The workshop series launches with the Positively Creative Summit on Saturday, September 21st. This second annual creative summit invites all kinds of local creatives to attend.
Attendees will spend the morning hearing from local and regional inspirational creative entrepreneurs “making it” in their field, followed with breakout sessions in the afternoon on niche topics led by local creatives. Such topics include “Craft Fairs and Market Booths” presented by Find Vendor Booths, “Getting a Handle on Taxes and Financing for Creatives” presented by Allegiant Financial Planning, “Is There Such a Thing as Balance?” “Applying to Galleries, Grants, & High End Juried Shows” presented by Michel Allen Consulting, and “Creative Flow.” Confirmed speakers include entrepreneur and soap maker, Brad Kellum of Buff City Soap, presented by Paradigm Marketing, graphic designers, Shelda Edwards and Allie Mounce of The Hive, and painter and muralist, Thomas Evans of I Am Detour, presented by Epicenter Memphis. There will be a total of four local speakers and two keynote speakers along with 12 panelists during break out sessions.
