Can’t Skate Good? Wanna be Good at Other Stuff Too?

Memphis Roller Derby has the perfect bootcamp for you: The Memphis Roller Derby Center for People Who Can’t Skate Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too! Don’t worry, we built the center at least three times bigger than the model so we can ALL fit. Maybe you can skate pretty good but you’re not an ambiturner. We’ve all been there! Join us and we will teach you all the tricks of the trade. The bootcamp is for adults of all genders aged 18 and over. Our 6-week training program will take you from no skating experience to blocking as part of a strong wall or jamming through it. Now also recruiting skaters for upcoming men’s team AND officials (skating and non-skating).

Thursday, April 26: Free info session, Q&A, sign waivers at the Pipkin Building at Tiger Lane. Bring your skates if you have them!

Saturday, April 28: Watch MRD go up against the Rollergirls of Central Kentucky at our home bout. Coming to the free info session gets you admittance to this bout!

After the info session, the boot camp sessions will be held from 6:30 to around 9:15 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at the Pipkin Building.

We teach you how to get in shape, how to skate, how to hit and be hit, rules and strategy. $25 fee covers all 6 weeks of training.

We will have some loaner gear and skates, but the sizes and availability are limited.
