Market 901 opens for business November 15th
Local artisan collective launches an online marketplace for local goods
October 28th, Memphis, TN – Just in time for the holidays, Market901.net opens for business on November 15, 2020. The concept is an online marketplace featuring a variety of goods from local Midsouth artisans and designers. The online marketplace was developed by the Modern Made Memphis team who is best known for their popup shops in Overton Square, Broad Ave., and Saddle Creek.
The online store features the work of over 20 local artisans. Visitors to the marketplace will see a variety of goods including bath & body products, jewelry and accessories, specialty food items, and holiday décor items.
With Covid forcing the cancellation of most of the markets and shows that local designers and artisans rely on for sales, the team put together a plan to create a virtual popup to help the local creative community end the year on a positive note. Another benefit to going online is that it allows the team to connect with former Memphians now living in other cities across the globe.
Unlike their physical retail popups where space restricts the number of artisans that can sell, going online means the number of local small businesses that can participate is virtually unlimited. Local Midsouth artisans and are encouraged to visit their blog – blog.market901.net – to learn more and apply to sell.
