KINFOLKAugust 1, 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
KINFOLK is a story. It is the tale of a young black girl coming of age, exploring what it means to be black, to be woman, to be Southern.
It is a collection of poetry; it is a showcase; it is a short film. The storyline is an uphill climb to discover how to handle identities, how to navigate life with them, and how to be at peace with them. It is a very personal outlook on Janay Kelley’s short life; one that she is willing to give and to be vulnerable with.
