Save the Date: Rock For Love 2015

Get ready to throw down for a good cause: The Church Health Center's annual Rock for Love music festival starts Thursday, September 3 and runs through Sunday, September 6.

Rock For Love 9

This year, Rock for Love has packed three days with live music from a few dozen of Memphis' finest musical acts. Proceeds go to the Church Health Center, an organization that provides healthcare to Memphis' working uninsured. Last year, Rock for Love raised $50,000.

Here's the full Rock for Love 9 schedule of events. I'll update this with times and additional info as it becomes available.

Sunday, August 30: Huey's Unofficial Kickoff Party
The Huey's midtown location hosts an annual unofficial kick-off party one week before Rock For Love proper. Enjoy live music by The Chaulkies and know that a portion of beer sales will be donated to the CHC

Thursday, September 3: Memphis Comedy Showcase at the Hi-Tone
More info on this coming soon.

Friday, September 4: Crosstown Block Party + Rock For Love
From 4:30 to 6 p.m., get to Crosstown early for the pre-Rock-For-Love Block Party to try out the Operation Crosstown fitness Park, drum circle, hooping, and Parkour demos, plus sno-cones and a signature Memphis Made Brew.

Here's the music lineup for Friday.
- Amurica Photo: Mary Owens, Faith Evans Ruch, Couple Skate, Stephen Chopek, Mark Edgar Stuart
- Crosstown Arts: Don Lifted, Mancontrol
- Co-Motion Studios: DJ Witnesse & Zac Ives

Don't forget to bring $5 for the Rock For Love Dunk Tank hosted by the Memphis Roller Derby.

Saturday, September 5: Lafayette’s Music Room ($5)
Memphis Ukulele Band, Deering & Down, Hope Clayburn & Soul Scrimmage

Sunday, September 6: The Levitt Shell
North Mississippi All-Stars

I'll update this with more info as I receive it.

The show covers at the Hi-Tone Lafayette's are $5 each. The other shows are free, but since the point of Rock For Love is to raise money for the Church Health Center, donations are expected.
