Memphis Pies For National Pie Day
16 Memphis Pies For National Pie Day
National Pie Day comes but..twice a year? National Pie Day (the food) is January 23, but everyone can remember March 14th (technically for Pi the number, 3.14) better. Honestly, who cares which day it is?
Eat pie when you want. Find the best pie in town. Lord knows Memphis and the Mid-south have a ton of delicious pie places and bakeries where you can enjoy flaky, sweet, satisfying ultimate dessert comfort food: pie.
To celebrate, here is a post filled some of the best places to get pie in Memphis, in no particular order. Think of it as a family photo album places to get pie in the Mid-South. There are probably a few more I could add to this list, too. Let me know your favorites in the comments!
1. Shady Wake Pecan Pie from Muddy's
Muddy's is a Memphis institution for a reason, and their Shady Wake pie is a special take on the classic Southern pecan pie. Read more about Muddy's Bake Shop here.
2. Peanut Butter Pie from Hog and Homin
Not to play favorites, but this is my favorite. Hands down, the best. it's like a pie and banana pudding had a baby. A sweet, beautiful baby.
I ate it every year for my birthday until they burned down, and I plan to restart that tradition again this year since Hog & Hominy has risen from the ashes!
