Join Volunteer Odyssey on April 15th for volunteer projects across the city from 10 a.m. to noon, and an afternoon of celebration at Crosstown Arts from noon to 3 p.m. Everyone who volunteers in the morning will have access to free food and drinks (beer from the good folks at Memphis Made Brewing Co.) during the afternoon festivities. Both events are open to any and everyone!
Arrow Creative | Space Beautification | Indoor Project | 10 a.m. to Noon
Join Arrow Creative as they prepare for Memphis Fashion Week. Volunteers are needed to paint, prep, and beautify their space during this indoor volunteer event. See the cool space that Arrow Creative occupies and help them prepare for MFW! If you are interested in art or fashion or would like to learn more about how Arrow Creative operates!
Memphis Botanic Garden | Gardening & Materials Prep| Outdoor Project | 10 a.m. to Noon
Join the Memphis Botanic Garden for a big morning of service! They need assistance with weeding, sanding and staining benches, and youth education material prep for their youth series. Whether you want to be indoors or outdoors, there is an opportunity at MBG for you!
Memphis Rox | Community Clean Up | Outdoor Project | 10 a.m. to Noon
Memphis Rox hosts their monthly Soulsville Neighborhood Volunteer Cleanup. This is a great way to give back to the community served at Memphis Rox. Volunteers will meet at Memphis Rox, and we will disperse from there. All necessary materials for the cleanup, including trash bags, gloves, high-visibility vests, and water are provided.
Oasis of Hope | Building Organization | 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Oasis of Hope needs assistance cleaning/organizing a storage area in the back of their newly renovated community building. They have shelves that we need assembled, and then they need the items in the room labeled, organized, and put on the shelves.
Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy | Indoor & Outdoor Projects | 10 a.m. to Noon
Join Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy on their beautiful and expansive campus as you support their mission of serving individuals with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities through equine-assisted services. Volunteers are needed both indoors and outdoors, for cleaning and gardening. Wear comfortable clothes you can move around in and potentially get dirty!
Wolf River Conservancy | Greenline Cleanup | Outdoor Project | 10 a.m. to Noon
Join the Wolf River Conservancy for a litter pickup at the Wolf River Greenway section located at the Kennedy Park trailhead. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothes that you can potentially get dirty.
Youth Villages, Campus Events and Recreation | Indoor & Outdoor Projects | 10 a.m. to Noon
You can volunteer at the Youth Villages Bartlett Campus for a number of projects. If you want something interactive, you can join their Saturday Runners Club or campus recreation. If you want something less youth-facing, you can volunteer to clean up their campus or help organize their clothing closet. All of these are wonderful opportunities to support the mission of Youth Villages and experience their campus.
Shelby Farms Park | Trail Clean Up | Outdoor Project | 10 a.m. to Noon
Join Shelby Farms Park in their trail maintenance and clean up opportunity. This volunteer group will meet at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead and will disperse from there! Dress for the weather and wear clothes you can get dirty. This is a great way to explore some trails, spend time outside, and be of service to ensuring Shelby Farms Park stays clean.
Volunteer Odyssey | Set Up for 10 Year Celebration | Indoor Project | 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Volunteers who sign up for this shift will be assisting the Volunteer Odyssey team with setting up tables, organizing remote projects, and other assistance as needed to make the space ready for celebrating!
Volunteer Odyssey | Face Painter for 10 Year Celebration | Indoor Project | Noon to 3:00 p.m.
We are looking for one artistic individual to paint faces during our celebration at Crosstown Arts East Atrium. You do not have to bring your own supplies, but you can if you would like! This volunteer would hang out at our afternoon celebration and paint kids (or adults!) faces to help liven the festivities!
Volunteer Odyssey | Break Down for 10 Year Celebration | Indoor Project | 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Volunteers who sign up for these shifts will be assisting the Volunteer Odyssey team with breaking down tables, collecting and organizing the remote project, cleaning and tidying, and other assistance as needed to make sure the Crosstown Arts space looks better than ever post-celebration!
